West Sound Warriors Baseball Tryouts – 15u
September 11, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 pmFree
The West Sound Warriors are proud to announce the addition of a 15u Team for
the 2016 – 2017 Season. The Warriors organization is excited to provide
young athletes from Kitsap County (Bainbridge, Poulsbo, Silverdale &
Bremerton) the opportunity to play competitive baseball that will complement
the High School season. Our season will consist of a rigorous off season
training program, coupled with a competitive schedule of 8-10 Tournaments,
the majority of which will be local.
The West Sound Warriors have teamed up with a couple of local programs so
that we can offer an indoor facility located on Bainbridge Island during the
winter months. Our off season training program will start at the beginning
of November and run through the end of February. Training will be one to
two, 2 hour indoor practices per week. Indoor training will focus on
hitting, proper mechanics, approaches at the plate, infield and outfield
skills, and conditioning. Outdoor training will include infield and outfield
drills, situations, bunt coverage, pitchers fielding practice, on the field
hitting, base running, etc. We are aware that kids play multiple sports, and
we are committed to doing our best to accommodate everyone during the off
season. All players will be encouraged to participate in a 5 week throwing
program beginning in January.
We are looking for self-motivated players that possess a desire to learn and
play at a high level. Warrior players strive for excellence. Our program is
fair, but challenging. The Warriors are committed to youth baseball and
continuous, relentless improvement.
Our mission is simple: Provide the highest level of personal development for
our student athletes. Our goal is to inform, inspire, and instruct to
maximize personal and athletic potential.
The West Sound Warriors only hires qualified coaches and instructors. Our
staff is made up of high school and college coaches, scouts, college
players, professional players, and instructors. The Warriors program does
not hire, or utilize volunteer parent coaches. All administration, coaching,
and instructors are handled within the Warriors non-profit organization.
In addition to the team coaches, The West Sound Warriors are fortunate to
have relationships with local professional players as well that provide
additional instruction opportunities prior to leaving for their professional
seasons in the spring.
Brett Whitman – Brett has been a coach for the North Kitsap High School C
team and JV team. Brett played for Olympic College’s fall/winter ball in
2008/2009. Recently Brett has been playing semi-pro ball for the past 3
years with the Kitsap Hornets. Brett is excited to return to the coaching
ranks and teach players about the game and help prepare them for the next
Brandon Pedersen – Brandon graduated from CK High School in San Diego where
he lettered in 3 sports; Baseball, Football, and Basketball. Nike rated
Brandon as one of the Top Premier Athletes in Southern California. Brandon
was drafted by The Milwaukee Brewers organization in 1998. Brandon continued
his studies at San Diego State University, until relocating to the Pacific
Northwest. Brandon currently is playing semi-pro ball for the Kitsap Demons,
where he is a pitcher, 2B, SS.
Johnny Moe – Johnny was a professional baseball player for 4 years in
Ensenada Mexico, and now is currently a 25% owner of a non-profit
semi-professional baseball team in the Pacific International League. Johnny
also performs a few other roles within the organization such as head coach,

One of Johnny’s great joys is donating some of his spare time on a weekly
basis to serve as head pitching instructor for Swingaway USA baseball
training facilities in Bremerton WA, working with kids of all ages in
helping them realize their full potential. In December 2014, Johnny had his
first player sign a professional contract with the Glacier Grizzlies in the
MRPBL, serving as his player agent.
