Festival Overview

PARADE
Begins at 2:00pm on Saturday May 18th. The Parade begins at 6th & Fjord and follows along Fjord to Hostmark, then through Front Street and concludes at Martha and Mary. Be sure to get there early to grab a good viewing spot! Best spots are along Front Street & Fjord.

CARNIVAL & STREET FAIR
Kick’s off Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday. There will be rides, games, food vendors, arts & crafts and more!

STREET DANCE
Join us Saturday night on Front Street!  DJ’ will be playing everyone’s favorite hits and taking requests. Bring your sweetie and shake you booty! This is a family-friendly event for all ages!

LIVE PERFORMANCES IN THE PAVILION
Performers including live music, dancers and more will be performing all weekend long in the Austin-Kvelstad Pavilion in the waterfront park. Stay tuned for the official schedule and list of performers.

VIKINGS
Be on the lookout, the Vikings will be roaming and pillaging along the parade route and in the waterfront park. There will also be Viking presentations and a Viking Village.

LUTEFISK & DONUT EATING CONTEST
Sign up at the Viking Fest information booth Friday and Saturday of the festival. First come first served.
*Donut eating contest ages 6-17
*Lutefisk eating contest ages 18 and over

PARKING

Shuttle service will be available from North Kitsap High School. WildWise School is pleased to offer shuttle service to Viking Fest this year. The cost is $3.00 per way. All proceeds contribute financial assistance to families for children to attend their Forest Pre-School, Forest School for grades K-8, as well as Wilderness Rites of Passage for youth. Skål!

Downtown lots will be closed for use for the events.

There is limited handicap parking close to the event, so make plans to drop your loved one’s off downtown and then park. If you have a handicap placard there are a few spots close to Front Street, including the Edward Jones lot.

Keep in mind street parking in neighborhoods is for the residents and their guests, and 6th Ave is where the parade queue’s up on Saturday, so it is not available for parking during the parade.

STREET CLOSURES

Wednesday May 15th, 3:00pm: King Olaf Parking will CLOSE for carnival.
Thursday May 16th, 2:00pm:  ANDSERSON PARKWAY is CLOSED until after Viking Fest.
Friday May 17th, 5:00pm: Front St from Moe to Jensen is CLOSED thru Sunday at 11:00pm.
Saturday May 18th, 7:00am: CLOSED Front St from Jensen to Hostmark/Fjord/4th Ave. (Re-open after Street Dance)
Saturday 12:00-4:00pm: Sunset St., between Front St and Jensen Way is CLOSED for parade.
Saturday: 6:00am 6th Ave, from Hostmark St to Fjord, CLOSED, until after parade.
