Join us for lokalfest on Saturday, September 9th- a day of music on the waterfront, and a chance for Downtown Poulsbo to give back to its’ residents, students, and volunteers. The hard work and dedication of our local folk throughout the year help make our community an amazing place to live and work, and we want to say “Thank You!”. A festive evening offering local roots music (Jazz and American culture music), will be held in the Pavilion on the Poulsbo Waterfront beginning at 3:00pm. A lineup of five bands will provide an evening of fun for all ages, and it is FREE!
Thanks to the support of our local sponsors, VisitKitsap Peninsula and Kitsap Daily News, the downtown is very pleased to announce the lineup: Ranger & The Re-Arrangers, Me & The Boys, and the Mark Lewis Quartet as our opening sets. Local indi dream pop artists Lemolo take the stage at 7:30pm, and the evening tops off with headliner Pearl Django at 9:15pm.
We are excited to announce our community partner, KNKX 88.5 fm, Seattle’s jazz and blues radio station. They will be by our side through the evening, with on-air staff, radio exposure, and an opportunity for our jazz students with the School of Jazz. Abe Beeson (KNKX host of Evening Jazz and The New Cool) will introduce sets from student groups in preparation for their opportunity to be involved in a School of Jazz session on KNKX. These talented students come from our public and private schools, and, with high recommendations from their music teachers as emerging talent. The School of Jazz is a “cornerstone of KNKX’s mission” of outreach to jazz students from Middle/High Schools, and, Colleges from Western Washington Schools.
